Helen Marie Cox, 81, died at 10:33 a.m., Friday, April 10, 2015 at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville.She was born in Jerseyville on June 17, 1933, one of two daughters born to the late Carl & Bertha Josephine (Corzine)Haushalter.Helen was a loving and loyal woman, volunteering for many causes throughout her life.  She worked numerous American Red Cross Blood Drives, volunteered at Jersey Community Hospital, both before and after her retirement, and shared herunboundless love in the nursery of First Baptist Church for many years, still maintaining  relationships with many of those she nurtured.She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Jerseyville, and served as a receptionist at Jersey Community Hospital in the Radiology Department.She married Robert Eugene Cox on March 22, 1952 in Peoria, and together they shared 30 years together and were the parents of four children before his death on July 21, 1982.Helen was everything to her children and her love will remain with them always.Surviving are her three daughters and a son in law, Beverly Cox and Tina Cox both of Jerseyville, and Teresa & George Moore of Godfrey; four grandchildren, Jason Cox, and his wife, LaWanda of Jerseyville, Whitney Bland of Hillsboro, Mo., Justin Bland of Jerseyville, and Sydney Moore of Godfrey; four great grandchildren, Kelsi, Courtney, Cayden, Kaylee and one due in June; and a sister, LaQuita McAdams of Rockbridge.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Johnnie Cox on Dec. 3, 1993; a granddaughter, Jamie (Cox) Watters on July 2, 2008; and a brother in law, William T. McAdams.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Jerseyville, with Rev. Brent Meyer officiating.She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church Nursery or to the Jersey Community Hospital Volunteers.
