H. Milton “Milt” Bopp was born May 3, 1927 to Earl and Olive of Edwardsville. Milt went to his heavenly home on January 1, 2013 at the age of 85. Milt married the love of his life, Geneva Dean Moore on June 18, 1950 and they spent 62 wonderful years together. Their love and devotion to one another set an example as a loving Christian couple and touched the lives of everyone they met. Milt attended Alton High School and the Missouri School of Mines where he graduated as a mechanical engineer. He also served in the Navy and was stationed in the Philippines during WWII. As a sought after engineer in the petroleum industry, Milt and his family traveled all over the U.S. as well as Venezuela and Spain. Milt loved spending time with his family and friends and was an avid golfer and trout fisherman. Milt is survived by his loving wife “Genny” and three children: Jeff and wife Sharon, Mike, and Jane and husband Greg. They have also been blessed with seven grandchildren; Heather, Shannon, Laura, Jason, Jake, Josh and Jordan and seven great-grandchildren; Haylee, Mikie, Lillie, Gabriel, Dylan, Paige and Cooper. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Reverend Jerry MeCaskey will officiate. Milt devoted many years to the youth ministry. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made, in his honor, to the youth ministry at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey.
