Gladys Mae Lumsden, 91, of Pacific, MO, formerly of Wood River, IL, died at 12:45 p.m. Fri. June 21, 2013 at Pacific Care Center in Pacific, MO.
She was born May 21, 1922 in Idlewild, TN to the late Kenneth K. & Mammie (Connell) Bolton.
On Oct. 4, 1952, she and Howard R. Lumsden were married in Breckenridge, KY. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1998..
Gladys was a member of the Whitelaw Ave. Baptist Church in Wood River, the Alton VFW 1308 Ladies Auxiliary and a lifetime member and past president of the East Alton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary #794.
She is survived by: 3 grandchildren, Rona D. (Eric) Nishbach of O’Fallon, MO, Kevin K. Kessler of Florissant, MO and Roy W. Kessler of St. Louis, MO, 5 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, 4 brothers, Bill (Barbara) Haney of West Memphis, AR, Lonnie (Kathi) Bolton of Bradford, TN, Hawley Bolton of Bradford, TN and Tony Bolton of Bradford, TN, 6 sisters, Joyce Cordova of OR, Rose Hartwell of Kennett, MO, Mary (Dennis) Mays of Kennett, MO, Patty (Terry) Mohn of Pacific, MO, Hazel (William) Jerome of Horn Lake, MS and Julia Morton of Baytown, TX, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: a daughter, Donna Frances Kessler, a grandson, Jesse Kessler and a brother, Wade Bolton.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. Tues. June 25, 2013 at Paynic Home for Funerals with Pastor Richard Newcom officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
