Gladys Deering

Gladys A. Deering, 91, of East Alton, IL, passed away at 8 a.m. Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Rosewood Care Center of Edwardsville.
She was born Apr. 24, 1924 in Advance, MO to the late Ben & Fronie Elizabeth (Johnson) Bess.
She married Charles E. Deering May 10, 1944 in Paragould, Ark. He preceded her in death Dec. 8, 1996.
Mrs. Deering had been a member of Friendship General Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved animals, working in the yard and tending to her garden
Survivors include 5 daughters, Shirley (Shelby) Gibson of East Alton, Virginia Gibson of The Dalles, Ore., Angela Parrish of Collinsville, IL and Sharon Maguire of East Alton; 2 sons, Ricky Deering of St. Louis and Jimmie Wallace of Wilsonville, IL; 32 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren;
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by; a son, Larry Deering and a daughter, Carolyn Nicholson.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 11:30 a.m. Sat. Nov. 28, 2015 at Paynic Home for Funerals with Joe Fletcher officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
