Geraldean Kaye Farris, 70, died at 1:07 p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2014, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton from complications of lung cancer.
She was born in Jerseyville on Feb. 29, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Harry Leroy and Helen Louise (Robinson) Kelley Sr.
A caregiver at heart, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, but also gave of her caring nature at Illinois Valley Rehabilitation Center in Jerseyville, where she served as a bus driver, lovingly interacting with their clients.
She married George Farris on Dec. 27, 1961 in Jerseyville, and together they have shared nearly 53 years together and were the parents of six children.
Surviving are her husband, George Farris of Otterville; a daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Kyle Trask of Otterville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Tracey Farris of Otterville, Randy and Lori Farris of Grafton, Mark Farris of Litchfield, and Roy and Ruth Farris of Grafton; a daughter-in-law, Dawn Farris of Litchfield; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Phyllis Delp Palos of Fieldon and Mary Huff of Medora.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Travis Eugene Farris on June 27, 1981; three brothers, Ronald Lee Kelley, Terry Leon Kelley, and Harry Leroy Kelley Jr.; a sister, Harriet Storll; and an infant sister, Eleanor Lee Kelley.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 1. Rev. Bo Schultz will officiate.
Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
Memorials may be given to her family in care of the funeral home.
