George Terrence “Terry” Wreath, 76, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 at home with his family by his side.

He was born on January 7, 1939 in Alton, Illinois, the son of George L. & Clara V. (Dalmeyer) Wreath.

Terry married Shirley J. Davis on November 18, 1960 in Alton Illinois and she preceded him in death on March 5, 2001.  He married Wanda M. Lansdon on May 14, 2002 in Paducah, KY. She survives.

Terry served the US Navy and was a 32nd  Degree Mason Scottish Rite.  He was a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge #25 AF & AM in Alton, as well as a member of the Alton Moose Lodge, Midwest Spyder Riders Club in Alton, and the Bunker Hill Knife Club.

He had been a truck driver for B.O.C. in Hartford where he retired in 2002. He then became a part time transporter at Beverly Farms Foundation in Godfrey. Terry was an avid gardener, hunter, an accomplished woodworker and storyteller.  He loved spending time with his pets, family and friends.  He drove a school bus for many years before driving over the road trucks.  He loved the kids on his route and was well known by the affectionate nickname “Whiplash”.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; George T. & Jamie Wreath of Godfrey; two daughters and a son-in-law, Gwen & Jim Baalman of Godfrey, Sarah Vogel of Wood River; one stepson and daughter-in-law, Donald & Robyn (Ivy) McEuen of Bartlett, TN; two stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Dawn (McEuen) and Rick McLain of Perryville, MO and Sarah (Carney) and Jon Sunderland of Cherryville, MO; six grandchildren, Candace, Sam  and Jimmy Wreath, Paige and Shelby Baalman and Stefani Troxtell; five step grandchildren, Aaron and Jeremy Belcher, Chelsey Madigan, and David & Taylor McEuen, seven great grandchildren, Noah, Cambria, Kinlee, Alice, Dominic, Dexter, and Lincoln; one sister, Judith Ann Wreath of South Roxana, and a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Louis & Carolyn Wreath of Cottage Hills.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto where Masonic Rites will be held at 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Emmanuel Free Methodist Church in Alton.  the church with Mark Scandrett officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto with military rites given by Alton VFW Post 1308.

Memorials may be made to Beverly Farms in Godfrey.
