Geneva Jewell Saragusa, 90, passed away 8:17 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 at her granddaughter's residence.
Born in Hartford on May 12, 1924, she was the daughter of Dewey E. and Gertrude (Brewer) Burleson.
She had worked at the tannery for International Shoe and loved to paint and care for animals.
She married Kelly Frank Saragusa, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are a granddaughter, Amanda Saragusa of Bunker Hill; great grandchildren, Devin, Anthony and Dakota Saragusa, Jason Saragusa (Jenny Dodson) of Godfrey, Kelly (Kenny) Smith of South Roxana; two great-great grandchildren, Wyatt Saragusa and Kenzley Smith; and extended loving family and friends in the Hammond, LA area including, Phiney and Sal Yenni, Johanna Vogelsanger, Tracy Vogelspanger, Tony Saragusa, and Christine Hayes.
Her husband and two grandchildren, Ronald and Robert Saragusa preceded in death.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens Chapel in Bethalto. Walter McCaslin will officiate.
Marks Mortuary in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
