Gail A. Betts, 84, passed away at 9:25 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
Born Sept. 9, 1929 in Roxana, she was a daughter of Willard G. and Florence (Vancil) Winstead.
She married Phillip E. Betts Feb. 21, 1947 in Roxana. He preceded her in death Oct. 31, 2008.
Gail worked as an accountant for Olin Corp. for 25 years.
Survivors include her two daughters, Pamela (John) Beiser of Godfrey and Christina (Bill) Brand of Pekin, Ind.; 7 grandchildren, Scott, Stephanie and Billy Joe Brand, John Beiser III, Timothy Beiser, and Eric and Stephen Betts; and 9 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Glen Betts; her parents; a sister, Elaine George; and a brother, Willard G. Winstead, Jr.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 14 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 10:30 a.m. until services begin at 11:30.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
