Freda Mae Frizzell, 81, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at OSF St. Clare Hospital in Alton.
Born Aug. 2, 1933 in Fairfield, Ill., she was the daughter of Clayton and Inez (Barnard) Manahan.
She married Sheridan Whayne Frizzell Nov. 25, 1953, and they celebrated 53 years of marriage before he passed away May 29, 2007.
Freda worked as a box maker for Owens-Illinois Glass Works until their closing. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Wood River.
Survivors include her son, Ed D. Frizzell of Hartford; her brother, Elmo Manahan of Jeff, Ill.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Friday, July 3 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. Rev. Mike Southcombe will officiate.
Burial will follow at Woodland Hill Cemetery in East Alton.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
