Frances Fay Thompson, 78, of Cottage Hills, IL, died unexpectedly Tues. Mar. 31, 2015 at her home.
She was born Mar. 10, 1937 in Bethalto, IL to the late Hiram & Emma (Rodgers) Landreth.
Fran had been an area lifelong hairdresser also owning her own in-home shop in St. Charles, MO. She was a member of the Bethalto United Methodist Church and loved spending time with her precious great-grandchildren. She also served as a foster grandparent in Alton schools.
Survivors include: 2 daughters, Terry Lowe of Rosewood Heights, IL, Lynne (Gaylord) Nelson of Lemont, IL, 1 son, Todd (Raquel) Thompson of Cottage Hills, 10 grandchildren, Renee (Jeremy) Bryan, Shannon (Jordan) Higby, Allyson (Nick) Helms, Alex, Jacob & Spencer Nelson, Heather & Nathan Thompson and Andrew & Adam Redmon, 7 great-grandchildren, Devin, Xavier, Kadin, Parker, Chase, Brayden & Mason and her husband, John Thompson of Lemont, IL.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by: an infant son, John Jr., a grandson, a sister, Sally Magers and 3 brothers, Marvin, Clifford & James “Leroy” Landreth.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
