Evelyn M. Ruppel, 91, of Dorsey, IL, died at Meridian Village, Glen Carbon, IL on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 10:49 pm.
She was born August 14, 1922, in Dorsey, IL to Carl Johnson & Katheryn (Emde) Johnson. She married Percy Ruppel. He preceded her in death in 2009. She was a LPN for the OB department in Alton Memorial Hospital and a homemaker.
Evelyn was a member of the Emmaus Lutheran Church of Dorsey, IL and a master gardener with the Farm Bureau of Edwardsville, IL.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Charles) Hancock of Oklahoma, Terry (Tammy) Ruppel of Dorsey, IL, Diane Cato of North Carolina, Philip (Cindy) Ruppel of Florida, 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, siblings, Dorothy Rull of Bunker Hill, IL, Marie Johnson of Dorsey, IL, and a sister-in-law Eunice Johnson of Bethalto.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, brothers, Ralph Johnson & Robert Johnson. Friends may call on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Bunker Hill from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services are Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 11:00 am at Emmaus Lutheran Church, Dorsey with Rev. David Stratmann officiating.
