Evelyn Tedrick

Evelyn Bernice (Southard) Tedrick, 92, formerly of Godfrey, IL passed away quietly at her home in Bentonville, AR on Thursday morning, May 2, 2013.

Evelyn was the daughter of William and Faye Southard of Wanda, Illinois and was a lifelong resident of the Alton area prior to her relocation to Bentonville, AR six years ago. Evelyn was married to the love of her life Leroy "Roy" Tedrick for 42 years who had passed away in 1982. She devoted her life to her family and friends and was a woman of grace and dignity that lived her faith daily. Her positive attitude and kind spirit served as an example for all who were in her company. In addition to being a homemaker, she was a bookkeeper/secretary for Albrecht Chevrolet and Tedrick Pontiac of Wood River. Evelyn finished her career working 18 years at Marcal asphalt and paving of Alton. After retirement, she loved to volunteer at Alton Memorial Hospital and Beverly Farms Gift Shop. She was a lifelong member of St. John United Church of Christ in Wood River.

Loving survivors include who two sons and their families: Gary and LeeAnn Tedrick of Godfrey and Clark and Casey Tedrick of Bentonville, AR. She has four grandchildren James and Jennifer Schulz of Alton, Christopher and Kelly Tedrick of Rochester, MN, Scott Tedrick of Granite Falls, MN and Laura Tedrick of Bentonville, AR. Evelyn also leaves behind four great grandchildren (Truman & Ellie Schulz, & Olivia & Nora Tedrick).

In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn is preceded in death by her sister Shirley Budde.

All services will be held at Gent Funeral Home in Godfrey with visitation on Monday, May 6, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and the funeral service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Pall Bearers will be James Schulz, Brian Budde, Terry Call, Dan Callahan, Christopher Tedrick & Scott Tedrick.

The Diabetes Foundation and Beverly Farms have been suggested as a memorial.
