Elvin “Bub”, A. Pruett, 73, passed away at 11:36 am on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at his home with his family by side.
He was born on September 1, 1939, the son of Clarence and Alta (Hodge) Pruett.
He married Diane Johnson on August 30, 1980 at Zion Lutheran Church. She survives.
Bub was a tractor/forklift driver for Olin Corporation in East Alton. He enjoyed antique cars, cutting grass, playing his guitar and his dog “Puff”.
In addition to wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses, Randel and Laura Pruett of South Roxana, Mike Pruett of Brighton, Barb and Bubba Barnhart of Wilsonville, IL, Elvin and Tracy Pruett of Godfrey, David and Laura Pruett of Fredricks, Maryland, Diane Pruett of Brighton and her companion, Darin Johnson of Bethalto, Joseph and Dianne Pruett of Greenville and Darrell Pruett and his companion, Brandy Bagent of Bethalto; nineteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three sisters and their spouses, Ione and Keith Tedrick of Lamar, MO, Marlene and Layne Flemming of Anza, CA and Sandy and Sam Ladd of Lamar, MO and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Wayne Pruett, Darrell “Doug” Pruett and Clarence Jr. and two sisters, Ila Miller and Irene Reinke.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto where funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday.
Burial will be at Bethalto United Methodist Cemetery.
