Ella Arline (Ensley) Isom

Ella Arline (Ensley) Isom, 81, died at 1:00 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at Robings Manor in Brighton. Born September 15, 1931 in New Florence, MO, she was the daughter of William S. and Winniferd (Penn) Ensley. Mrs. Isom was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. She worked as a checker for Arlans Grocery Store in East Alton for 11years. She had also worked as a saleswoman for J.C. Penney and a Nurses Aid for Eldercare Nursing Home. Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Janice L. and Don Kelly of Alton, three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert V. and Lisa Isom Jr. of Godfrey, Richard D. and Carol Isom of Chicago, and John W. and Lynn Isom of Inverness, FL, four grandchildren, Justin (Olivia) Kelly, Emily Isom, Adam Robert Isom, and Jerry Paul (Sabrina) Waters, and three great grandchildren, Katelyn, Danielle, and Harper Kelly. She was preceded in death by two sons, Sean Lee Isom and Charles E. Isom, a brother, Bernard Ensley, and two sisters, Vera Klockengay and Betty McKee. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Pastor Fred Church will officiate. Burial will be private at St. Joseph Cemetery with Father Bill Kessler Jr. officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Robings Manor Nursing Home in Brighton.
