Elizabeth Irene Enos, 82, died at 2:40 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2014 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton. Born January 9, 1933 in Chicago, she was the daughter of Charles Leonard and Irene (Mchaney) Jordan. Mrs. Enos graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in May 1955 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She then graduated from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville in 1964 with a Masters of Science degree in Education. She was an art teacher in the Alton schools and Wood River schools for 28 years, retiring in June 1988. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Alton and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). On December 29, 1957 she married William “Bill” Enos. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2012. Surviving are two daughters, Marcia Enos of St. Louis, MO, and Susan Allen (Ed) of Kansas City, MO, two grandchildren, Ashley and Audrea Allen, and a brother, George Jordan (Rita) of Madison, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Father Gary Goldacker will officiate.
