Eleanor June (Gibson) “Grandma June” Stormer, greatly loved by her family and her God, and by God’s grace a believer in Jesus Christ as her Savior, went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2015. She was a lifelong resident of Alton, IL born on June 24, 1922 to Arnold and Anna (Collins) Gibson. In 1940 Eleanor June married Alfred Theodore Otto Schlobohm on December 21, 1940 in Tory, MO (now deceased). In 1961 she married Jerry Stormer (now deceased). She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Emma, two sons-in-law, Frank Haines and James H. Wilson, and a grandson-in-law, William Davidson. Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Haines of Bloomington, IL, and Margie Wilson of Alton. Also surviving are grandchildren, Elizabeth Haines of Bloomington, IL, Robert Haines and wife Patty of Bloomington, IL, Valerie Sosa and her husband Steve of Bloomington, IL, Rick Wilson of Godfrey, Joanne Davidson of Bunker Hill, Karen Lewis and her husband Kevin of Godfrey, and 10 great-grandchildren: Lauren Haines, Kyle Sosa, Alex Haines, Kendall Sosa and Danielle Haines of Bloomington, IL; Sarah Wilson of California, Ricky Lee Wilson of Bethalto, Anthony Davidson, Rachel Wilson, Matthew Wilson of Bunker Hill, and a cousin, Connie Markley of Alton. Eleanor loved her family dearly. She enjoyed spending time with family and sharing stories about when she was growing up, and was always willing to “debate” politics and other issues. She was also an avid reader, Yahtzee player, and worker of crossword puzzles, and her favorite flower was Moss Rose. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services and burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 609 E.
