Eleanor Esther Kohlmiller, 84, passed away at 7:55 a.m. Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born in wood River on January 18, 1930, the daughter of Leonard W. and Eleanora Esther (Huebner) Kohlmiller.
Eleanor worked as a cable television salesperson before developing a career at Hardees Restaurant in East Alton, where she worked from 1985-2002.
A faithful servant of Christ, Eleanor devoted herself to His work, assisting with salad luncheons, dinners and other church functions at St. John United Church of Christ in Wood River.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Shelby Jean Kibler.
Surviving are nephews, David E. Kibler and Phillip Kibler; and nieces, Deborah Kusmanoff, Elizabeth 'Lisa' Kusmanoff and Rebecca Hart.
A joint visitation with her sister, Shelby Kibler, will be will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Michael Southcombe and Rev. Christopher Hill will officiate.
Burial will follow in Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ in Wood River or the Alzheimer's Disease Foundation.
