KANE- Earl J. Kirchner, 87, died at 4:25 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville.

He was born in Jersey County on May 6, 1925 the son of the late Elmer Benjamin & Rosa (Springman) Kirchner.

Earl grew up and was raised in rural Kane, and attended the Kane Baptist Church, and enjoyed riding his bicycle around town.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Lester, Henry, Paul & William Kirchner; and three sisters, Rosemary Taylor, Thelma Weller, and Ella Hardy.

Visitation will be conducted from 1 p.m., Tuesday until time of funeral services at 2 p.m., at the Kane Baptist Church, with the Rev. Chuck Keene officiating.

He will be laid to rest alongside his brother, William, at the Kane Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Kane Baptist Church.
