E. Irene Bryant, 92, passed away at 7:40 am Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Bethalto Care Center.
She was born on June 21, 1922 in Bethalto, Illinois. She married Charles Bryant in Bethalto. He preceded her in death in 2000.
Irene was a receptionist at Olin Corporation for 30 years. She was of the Lutheran faith. She was a member of the Alton Wood River Sportsman Club. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, taking care of flowers in her yard and trap and skeet shooting and was on a team at Olin. She was also an avid walker, walking two miles each day.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Clara Dale of Coffin, IL; two nephews, James Dale of Bethalto and William Dale of New York; a niece, Mary Shelbourne of Coffin, IL; several great nieces and great nephews and will be sadly missed by many friends and other extended family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, William, John and Robert “Bobbie” Dale and a nephew.
Visitation will be from 9:30 am until services at 11:00 am Friday, May 29, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Kale Hanson officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, St. Anthony’s Hospice or the Salvation Army.
