Dr. William R. Dawson, 77, passed away at 6:00 am, Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at his residence after a battle with cancer under the care of BJC Hospice.
He was born on February 23, 1933 in Hettick, IL, the son of Leland R. & Clara (McDevitt) Dawson
He married Charlotte A. Lyles on January 12, 1952 in Alton. This year they celebrated 58 years of marriage.
William was a highly respected chiropractor in the Alton area for over 30 years. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by a son, Thomas L (Christina) Dawson; a daughter-in-law, Dawn Dawson (Jeff); his grandchildren; a brother, Clifford Dawson and a sister, Dorothy Mae Kesterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, William Ray Jr., Jeffery Allen and Daniel Patrick Dawson, a brother, Richard Dawson
No visitation is planned. Burial will be private.
Memorials may be given to BJC Hospice.
