Dr. William Carl Botterbush

Dr. William Carl Botterbush, 81, died at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, February 26, 2015 at his home in Bunker Hill. He was born in Alton on February 2, 1934 the son of the late Dr. Wilmer and Katherine (Rohrich) Botterbush. He retired in 1996 as a self-employed Optometrist, owning W.C. Botterbush O.D. in East Alton. He retired as a full commander in the U.S. Navy having served for 26 years and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1308 in Alton. On November 23, 1954 in Alton he married Norma Jean Pratt and she preceded him in death on March 25, 2011.

Surviving are two sons; William Mark Botterbush of Brighton and Matthew Carl Botterbush (Victoria) of Athens, TN, four grandchildren; William Joseph Botterbush, Adam Charles Botterbush (Jaima), Jaclyn Nicole Botterbush and Nicholas Rodney Botterbush, two great grandchildren; Jaden Ann Botterbush and Jerra Lynn Botterbush. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Wilmer John Botterbush and Wilfred Eugene Botterbush.
