Dr. Kazys Narscius

Dr. Kazys Narscius, 88, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Hospital. He was born April 3, 1924 in Papile, Lithuania. He earned his degree in chemistry from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from the University of Bonn, Germany. Since 1965 he has been a family physician in this area and had his office in Bethalto. Following his retirement he was with the Good Samaritan Center of St. Anthony’s Hospital for 10 years. He married Cecilia Sauerborn, from Germany, on December 8, 1962 in Cicero, IL. She survives. A memorial mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the St. Anthony’s Chapel. Monsignor Kenneth Steffen will officiate with Deacon Bill Kessler providing the eulogy. Burial will be at a later date in Lithuania. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Foundation or a charity of choice. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
