Dorothy Renee Malone, 57, passed away 11:25 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014 at her residence.
Born on December 20, 1956 in Alton, she was the daughter of Mary (Skundrich) Malone of Wood River and the late Anthony Malone, Sr.
Dorothy was a 1975 graduate of East Alton Wood River High School, and later was elected to the district's school board, serving as secretary for 13 years. She had been a volunteer for Boy Scout Troop #101 for 14 years; attended Enjoy Church in Alton; was an avid BUNCO player; and was known for her great food.
She had worked as the office manager for Heartland Dental Care for 10 years.
Surviving are her mother; son, Mike Malone of Wood River; brother, Tony Malone of Wood River; sister, Anne Malone of Wood River; several nieces, nephews and great nieces; and was a 'mother' to many.
Visitation will be from 4-8 Tuesday at Enjoy Church, 3303 Homer Adams Parkway , Alton, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Pastor David Weimers will officiate.
Burial will follow in Woodland Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the "OILERS" football program or Boy Scout Troop #101.
