Dorothy Blake-Hanner

Dorothy Lee Blake-Hanner, 86, passed away, 8:45 p.m., Friday, July 3, 2015 at her daughter's residence.

Born in Alton on October 13, 1928, she was the daughter of George and Uni (Blaine) Hastings.

She had been a sales clerk for Trattler's Menswear in Wood River for 13 years before retiring.

Dorothy married Donald C. Blake in April of 1944 in Alton.  He died on April 7, 1972.  In August of 1975 in East Alton, she then married Carl Hanner.  He died in 1993.

Surviving are four daughters, Donna 9David) Mashaw of Farmersville, LA, Jeannie (Gary) Ruff of St. Peters, MO, Diana Jumper of East Alton, Dot (Rick) Kelly of Bethalto; two step-sons, Jim Hanner and Randy Hanner both of Utah; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Costanzo of Wood River.

Her parents; husbands; eight brothers and sisters; and long-time companion, Jim Ellison preceded in death.

In accordance with her wishes, her body was cremated and her remains will be interned in Upper Alton Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to "TEAM IMAGINE" Relay for Life or BJC Hospice.
