Dorothy Cappel

Dorothy L. Cappel, 89, died at 3:56 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2015 at her home in Godfrey. Born May 5, 1926 in Alton, she was the daughter of Freeborn Willis and Pauline (Zimmerman) Gilmore. On November 19, 1947 she married Paul Cappel in Alton. He survives. Mrs. Cappel graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing and worked as registered nurse for Owens Illinois retiring in 1995. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Along with her husband she is survived by 6 nieces. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
