Dorothy C. Springman

Dorothy C. Springman, 91, died at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born December 24, 1921 in Atchison, Kansas, she was the daughter of John and Marian (Glenn) Clingan. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Alton and worked for the Social Security Administration in downtown Alton. On February 4, 1943 she married Louis A. Springman in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1968. Surviving are two daughters, Judith Yoder of Tucson, AZ and Dorothy J. Springman of Godfrey. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a daughter, Susan B. Brakeville. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey.
