Donna M. Wardein, 70, passed away at 4:42 am Monday, November 3, 2014 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL.
She was born on August 12, 1944 in White Hall, IL, daughter of the late John F. & Theadoisa
( Crain ) Rice.
She married Robert “Bob” L. Wardein at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on June 10, 1967. He passed away on August 19, 2014.
Donna was employed at several fast food restaurants throughout the area then working at Lay Law as a monitor for the bus lines. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton, involved with her husband in the marriage encounters group and the daughters of Isabella. She loved to spend time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by five children and their spouses, Debbie Wardein of Alton, Teri & Scott Westbrook of Alton, Patti & Leon Huntsman of Huntingdon, TN, Lisa Wardein of Alton and Michael & Jessica Wardein of E. Alton; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one brother and sister-in-law, Frank & Barb Homer of VA.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 am on Friday, November 7, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton with Fr. John Luong O.M.V. as celebrant.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, IL.
