Dateline: AltonDonald Wattles, age 57, of Godfrey, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016 at St. Anthony’s Health Care in Alton.He was born August 30, 1958, in Alton, the son of Harvey and Jeanne (Bunse) Wattles. He married Virginia Wendle on Feb. 14, 1982 at College Ave. Presbyterian Church and she survives.Donald was a self-employed carpenter. In addition to being a member of the Sportsmen’s Club, he loved to hunt and fish, and especially enjoyed mushroom hunting. Donald was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.In addition to his wife, Virginia; he is survived by a son Joshua Wattles of Alton; three siblings, Brenda, Lisa, and Chuck Wattles, all of Vancouver, WA; four sisters-in-law and their husbands, Debbie and Rob Barnard of Alton, Mary and Lee Thery of Bunker Hill, Lori and Kevin Voges of Town and Country, MO, and Amy and Andy Agney of Brighton; two brothers-in-law, Gerald and Kim Wendle of Ozark, AL, and Mike and Donna Wendle of Brighton; and many other relatives and friends.He is preceded in death by his parents.Visitation will be held Monday, February 1, 2016 from 10:00 am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Fr. Steve Pohlman officiating.Cremation rites will be accorded.Arrangements have been provided by Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.Memorials may be given to Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation, P.O.
