Donald Eugene Walker, 76, graduated to Heaven, Tuesday, June 9, 2015, while resting peacefully at his home.

Born on January 26, 1939 in East Alton, he was the son of William Rueben and Hazel Marie (Moore) Walker; and brother of Ed, Leroy and Loren Walker.

Don most valued his faith in God, which he loved and shared with others.  He had been employed at Walker's Shell Service Station in Wood River; Site Gas Station in Alton, and 32 years at Laclede Steel Works before retiring from the Blooming Mill Department in 1995.

On July 27, 1957, he and Patricia Ford were united in marriage and enjoyed 58 years together.  Their four children and spouses are: Jonathan Alan and Angelica Walker of Collinsville, Deborah Kay and John O'Connor of Fenton, MO, David Dwayne and Marjorie Walker of Indianapolis, IN and Timothy Lee Walker of Alton.  Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Jonathan and Shannon Walker of Park City, KS, Jacqueline and Steve Duty of Glen Carbon, Joseph Walker of Maryville, John Thomas, Mary and Natalie O'Connor of Fenton, MO, Jordan and Megan Walker of Indianapolis, IN, Jullian Walker of Alton and Thomas Walker of Troy; and five great grandchildren, Tyler and Trevor Duty of Glen Carbon, Austin Walker of East Alton, Shane Cline and Ashlynn Pollard of Park City, KS; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Frona Walker of East Alton, Delores Walker of Wood River, Beatrice Busby of Kerrville, TX, Rudy and Marlene Ford of Carlisle, PA; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ed; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Geraldine and Mark Brueggeman, MaryAnne and George Fish, Rueben Busby, Clayton and Geraldine Ford.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the 1st Assembly of God Church in East Alton, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday.  Rev. Timothy Keller will officiate.

Burial will follow in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

Memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Church in East Alton, where he had attended since childhood and was a member or BJC Hospice.
