Donald Earl Taylor, 72, died at 4:41 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at his residence. He was born June 30, 1941 in Hardin, IL the son of the late Russell J. and Georgia W. (Snelson) Taylor. He retired in 2005 after 40 years of service as an operator for Olin Brass Mill. He was a former member of the Wood River Moose Club. On July 21, 1961 in East Alton he married Eva (Cason) and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters; Terry Mounce (Randy) of Bethalto and Stephanie Tanksley (Larry) of Rosamond, CA, one son; Donald “Don” Taylor (Katrina) of Maysville, NC, seven grandchildren; Don Taylor, Brandon taylor, Jansen Mounce, Ariel Mounce, Morgan Tanksley, Jeffrey Miller and Crystal Miller, five great-grandchildren; Shelby Mounce, Sarah Gleason, Natali Gleason, John Gleason and Eva Jean Taylor, one sister; Karen Gustafson (Randy) of Bunker Hill and one sister in law; Caroline Taylor of Cottage Hills and many nephews and nieces and one very special nephew; Doug (Dawn) Cason.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday with Reverend Steve Rice to officiate.
Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
