Dolores M. Laux, 93, passed away at 10:39 am Sunday June 8, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
She was born on May 16, 1921 in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Julius and Nora (Brueggman) Voss.
She married Alvin L. Laux on March 28, 1947 at College Avenue Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in death on January 4, 1994.
She was a secretary/treasurer for College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton for over 40 years.
Dolores is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol Modrovsky of Alton and Pat and Don Gebelein of Fairfield, Ohio; four granddaughters and their spouses, Jennifer and Jeff Loyet of Glen Carbon, Christine and Greg Spiller of Godfrey, Donna and Ryan Green and Pam Gebelein all of Fairfield, Ohio; her great grandchildren, Logan, Mariah, Darrius Spiller of Godfrey, Colin and Kaitlyn Loyet of Glen Carbon and Ashleigh and Ellie Green of Fairfield, Ohio and a sister, Molly Unterbrink of Belleville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Terry, a son-in-law, John Modrovsky, two brothers, Joseph and Louis Voss and a sister, Winona Roller.
A memorial service is at 2 pm Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton with Pastor Dale Jackson and Pastor George Humbert officiating.
Per her wishes her body was donated to St. Louis University Medical Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
Arrangements were taken care of by Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
