Diana Lynn Bryant, 61, passed away at 1:30 am Friday, May 29, 2015 at St. Louis University Hospital.
She was born on June 17, 1953 in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of James and Virginia (Cox) McCollum.
Diana married William “Mike” Bryant on January 9, 1971 in Alton. He survives.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Cottage Hills VFW Post 7678 Ladies Auxiliary since 1997, in the early 1970s she was a dispatcher for the Cottage Hills Fire Department. She enjoyed camping, taking vacations to Florida, baking with her grandchildren, Dr Pepper and her beloved dog, Mickey. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband of 44 years, she is survived by her children and their spouses, Tracey Bryant and Scott Heinsohn of Bethalto, Lisa and Craig Bartholomew of Wood River, Billy Bryant and his fiancée, Rebekah Whyers of Elsah, Sugar and Howard Couch of Bethalto and Shawn Bryant and his fiancée Breanne Hammons of Alton; twenty one grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three brothers, James “Buddy” McCollum of St. Ann, MO, Mark and his wife, Lori McCollum of Moro and Gary McCollum of St. Ann, MO; a sister, Brenda Rodgers of Wood River and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Virginia McCollum, a son, Michael McCollum, and a brother, Ward McCollum.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 pm Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Monday, June 1, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Woods officiating
