JERSEYVILLE-  Deloris Elizabeth "Liz" (Wente) Barber Anderson, 85, died suddenly at 8:15 a.m., Monday, May 6, 2013 at her residence.She was born November 5, 1927 in Neoga, Il. and was the daughter of the late Clem "Pete" and Lillian Wente.Liz was a graduate of Neoga High School and furthered her studies at the Lakeland Junior College in Mattoon.Throughout her life she had lived in Neoga, Mattoon, Springfield, and most recently Jerseyville.  As a resident of Jerseyville, she was an active and valued member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Westlake Country Club, and the Jersey County Business Association Ambassadors..She first married Gail Barber in 1947, and together they had six children and he preceded her in death.  Liz was reunited Francis "Sam" Anderson, and the two married on Feb. 14, 1995 at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville, and the two have been blessed with 18 years together.Surviving are her six children & their spouses, Sue & Michael Ramage of Mattoon, Jerry Barber of Sitka, Alaska, Steve & Sue Barber of Kingston, Idaho, Julie & Vince Holtkamp of Centralia, Melissa & Dan Kelly of Champaign, and Mary & Ben Reynolds of Pleasant Plains; four step children & their spouses, Steve & Mary Ann Anderson of Lisle, Jim & Susie Anderson of Plano, Tx., Patricia & Chuck Ludwig of Haywood, Ca., and John & Susan Anderson of Seattle, Wa.; 20 Grandchildren, Colleen Barber, Andrew Ramage, Jason Roloff, Theresa Gowin, Sarah Powers, Lindsey Barber, Mathew Ramage, Annie Holtkamp, Katie Mitzelfelt, Eric Holtkamp, Laura Reynolds, Galen Kelly, Jenna Reynolds, Luke Reynolds, Frank Kelly, Cole Barber, Matt Anderson, David Anderson, Patrick Anderson and Jenny Anderson; 18 Great Grandchildren; three sisters & their spouses, Mary Lou & Richard Barber of Mattoon, Patricia Kuhns of Effingham, and Alice & Charlie Fisher of Springfield; two brothers & their spouses, William & Joann Wente of Springfield, and Michael & Rachel Wente of Los Angeles, Ca.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Metzger; and a brother, Clemmie Wente.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville, with Father William Hembrow officiating.Burial will take place in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the St. Francis/Holy Ghost Catholic Schools of Jerseyville.
