Debra Blankenship

Debra Lee (Greenwood) Blankenship, 54, died suddenly at 12:57 p.m., Monday, November 16, 2015 while a patient at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville.

She was born in Carrollton on May 19, 1961, one of two children born to K. Delbert & Margaret (Baker) Greenwood.Debbie grew up in Kane, and graduated in 1979 from Jersey Community High School.  She obtained her Bachelors in Nursing from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, and worked as a Registered Nurse for various locations, including Greenville Regional Hospital, where she was also an instructor for their CNA classes.She was particularly proud that she also earned her Administrators license.She is survived by her parents, Delbert & Margaret Greenwood of Kane; her two sons, Adam Blankenship, and his companion, Ashley of Vandalia, Il., and Ethan Blankenship, and his companion, Sara of Jerseyville; her grandchildren, Mabel, Noah & Kayla; and a brother, Terry Greenwood of Cape Girardeau, Mo, along with a niece and nephews.Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Monday at the Kane Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck Keene officiating.Burial will be in the Kane Cemetery.Memorials may be given to her family in care of the funeral home.
