Debra Kessinger

Debra Kay Kessinger, 54, passed away at 7:10 am Saturday October 4, 2014 at home with her family by her side.

She was born on February 2, 1960 in Jerseyville, the daughter of William & Betty Jean (Karrick) Gresham.

Debra married Robert “Bob” Kessinger on June 16, 1978 in Alton. He survives.

She worked as the Customer Service Manager for Schnuck’s in Alton for 26 years and loved playing Bunco with her same group of friends for over 20 years.

Debra loved being a “Nana” more than anything and is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Kessinger; three children, Erin (Ben) Shewmaker, Joshua Kessinger, and Katie (Scott) Curry;  five grandchildren, Elijah, Alexis, Liam, Cooper and Sabra; seven siblings, Patty (Paul) Roberts, Michael Miller, Terry Miller, Gary (Elaine) Miller, Vicki (Richard) Gibson, William Gresham, and Stan (Liz) Karrick.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 3 pm to 8 pm Monday October 6, 2014 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be held at 10 am Tuesday with Richard Gibson officiating.

Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Down Syndrome Association.
