Dawanna Dilks

Dawanna Renee "Dawn" Dilks, 46, died unexpectedly at 7:31 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2014, in the emergency room at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville.

She was born in Jerseyville on Feb. 1, 1968, and was the daughter of Ronald and Marian (Fritz) Dilks.

She graduated in 1986 from Jersey Community High School, and used her caring nature for people as a CNA at Alton Memorial Hospital, and various nursing homes in the Jerseyville area, with Willow Rose being her last place of employment.

Surviving are her father, Ronnie Dilks of Jerseyville; her companion of 28 years, Boby Bell of Jerseyville; a daughter, Heather Womack of Decatur; two sons, Scotty Bell of Hillsboro and Cody Bell of Granite City; two grandchildren, Hayden Womack and MaKinley Dilks; a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald "Butch" and Aimee Dilks of Kane; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Pattie and Randy Longley of Jerseyville and Crystal Dilks of Jerseyville; a step father, Dan Wallace of Wood River; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marian Wallace; an infant daughter, Dora Rose Bell; her grandparents, Leroy and Margie Dilks and Elfreda Ridlinger; and a son-in-law, Brian Womack

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 23. Rev. Larry Hayes will officiate. Burial will be in the Fieldon Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to her family in care of the funeral home.
