David Russell Meyers

David Russell Meyers, 55, died suddenly at 6:25 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Born October 2, 1957 in Brazil, Indiana, he was the son of Arlene (Sheppard) Meyers of Tennessee and the late Russell Meyers.

The pride of Dave’s life was his son, Glenn William Meyers of Alton. He served in the Army Military Police in West Germany from 1976-1979 and was honorably discharged. He was a Kitchen Manager for the Golden Corral in Alton. Along with his mother, Dave is also survived by a brother, Greg Meyers of Virginia and many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends. Dave gave the gift of life to numerous individuals through his decision to become an organ donor. He was preceded in death by his father.

The family will receive friends at Gent Funeral Home in Alton from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2013 with a brief prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in celebration of his life.
