Darren Michael Winn, 44, died at 9:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015. Born December 8, 1970 in Alton, he was the son of Michael and Marilyn (Powles) Winn of Godfrey. Darren served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and rehabbing homes and attended River of Life Church in Godfrey. He worked as a truck driver for Star Express for five years and then at McLeod Express for the past two years. Along with his parents, he is survived by his grandmother, Wilma Powles of Godfrey, a daughter Jessica Lynn Winn of Alton, a sister Debbie Ehlers (Chuck) of Bunker Hill, a niece Alyssa Ehlers and a nephew Jarren Ehlers. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2015. Reverend Roger Bruce will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the 5A’s Animal Shelter.
