Darlene F. Syfert, 80, passed away at 12:20am on Monday, December 17, 2012, at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra. She was born on December 28, 1931, in Centralia, Illinois the daughter of the late Herbert and Irene (Griebel) Fink. She married Max M. Syfert on November 8, 1952 and he preceded her in death on June 4, 2012. Survivors include one daughter and son in law: Connie and Desmond Lynch of Oscoda, Michigan, one son and daughter in law: Kevin and Carol Syfert of Moro, four grandchildren: Brittany Lynch, Ian Lynch, Cory Schilling and his wife: Vickie, Zach Schilling and his wife: Christy, three great grandchildren: Hallie, Brady, and Claire Schilling, a sister: Audrey Fink of Vandalia, one nephew: Butch Syfert, one great nephew and his wife: Luke and Lauren Syfert, and a great niece and her husband: Amanda and Peter Martin.
She was formerly employed by the Bethalto Public Schools as a third grade teacher at Cottage Hills Elementary. She formerly attended the United Church of Christ in Wood River.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson: Chad Ingram.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 10am to 11am on Friday, December 21, 2012 at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Graveside services will be held at 11:15am on Friday, December 21, 2012, at Woodland Hill Cemetery in East Alton.
Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
