Darin E. Burns, 32, died 6:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2014.
Born in Wood River on December 8, 1982, he was the son of Edward F. and Deborah L. Burns of Alton.
He worked as a Home Care Aid for the Department of Rehabilitation Services.
He married the former Kirstie L.M. Burns who survives.
Surviving in addition to his paretns and wife are, daughter, Taylin S. "Tay-Bug" Burns; step-son, Jared Mathis, Jr.; brother, Brendon R. Burns; sister, Leanne (Larry) Boulin; mother and father-in-law, Chandra and Jack Cope; grandparents, Brenda and Charles Hudson. great grandmother, Betty Nelson; uncles, Mike (Connie) Burns, Lonnie Mercer; aunts, Marie Baze, Linda Overton, Ruth Henrion, Donna Mercer, Nadiine Harris; brother and sister-in law, Hunter and Jackie Cope; cousins, Rhonda and Kevin Burns, Joshua, Justin, Jenna and Tammy Wilkins, Kristen, Kelsey, Jeffrey, Kim and Brenna Baze, Jamie Overton, Tyler, Nicki and Chris Savage, Melody and Mary Kozonasky; Jeffrey "Scooter" Wilkins and Josh Baze, his cousins and best friends; and nephew, Bentley Cope.
Preceding in death were grandparents, Sherry Cope and Dorothy Hudson; step-father, Billy Gross; aunts, Robin Burns, Brenda Burns, Betty Wall, Debbie Gross; cousin-in-law, Jess Delp and best friend, Dwayne Dunse.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m until time of service at 4 p.m. Sunday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
