Danny Maronie

Danny Leo Maronie, 66, died at 8:08 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at his residence. He was born December 2, 1948 in Alton. The son of the late John and Virginia (Price) Maronie. After working for 29 years with Jefferson Smurfit he and his wife went on to own and operate Danlyn Services Inc. for ten years. He was a member of New Testament Fellowship. A former member of the Moose Club and Alton-Wood River Sportsmen’s Club and a current member of Eagles Lodge FOE 254. He loved to hunt water fowl with his dog Sadie. He was loved very dearly by his wife Linda (Ewing) whom he married on September 28, 1995 in Alton.

Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Dan Maronie Jr. of Florida, three daughters; Crystal Priester (Brad) of Edwardsville, Tammie Smith (Jeff) of Jerseyville, Melissa King (Doug) of Godfrey, four brothers, Richard Maronie, Joe Maronie, Bob Maronie and Dave Maronie , one sister, Stormy Hanneken, his in laws, Connie (Allen) Schuetz and Robin (Chuck) Herring and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, John Maronie.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where visitation will continue on Tuesday, February 24th from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jerry MeCaskey to officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
