Clifford Meisenheimer

Clifford D. Meisenheimer, 78, died peacefully in his sleep early in the morning on March 17, 2015. Born November 27, 1936 in Alton, he was the son of Mary (Oseland) and Henry Meisenheimer. He married Vivian L. Scott in 1955. She preceded him in death in 1997. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953-1956 and the U.S. Navy from 1957-1966. He was a charter member of the Alton Harley Owners Group and rode Harleys until the age of 75. He went to Sturgis, SD during Bike Week for 20 consecutive years. He was also a member of the Piasa Gateway Chapter A.B.A.T.E., and a member of the Owl’s Club. As a young man he was nicknamed “Pee Wee” by his family. He was a maintenance welder at Ford Motor Company in Hazelwood, MO and retired in 2004 after 40 years of service. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He was generous with his time and would drop everything to help someone in need. He was the patriarch of his large family which was the most important thing in his life. He had many, many good friends and friends of the family called him “Pop” or “Grandpa.” In 2002 he married Rhonda (Kesler) Keeney. She survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Allison Meisenheimer, step-children, Mikki Dearing (Darin), Michael Bonbrake, and Martin Keeney, 8 grandchildren, Jodi Meisenheimer, Courtney Burroughs, April McCullough, Ashley Waddle, Tiffini Yost (Wayne), Crystal Meisenheimer, Clifford S. Meisenheimer (Jennifer), Calista Meisenheimer, Angel Rose Meisenheimer-Wade, two step-grandchildren, Curt Kutter, and Kelsey Kutter, 8 great granddaughters and six great grandsons. Also surviving is a brother, George Meisenheimer (Doris), a sister, Lois Downs (David), step-brother, Jack Lockwood, and step-sister, Joyce Lockwood, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, and two sons, Curtis and Mitchell Meisenheimer, grandson, Curtis Nathan Meisenheimer, a brother, Bill Meisenheimer, and four sisters, Charlene Barlow, Mary Stutz, Doris Meisenheimer, and Norma Fleming. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
