Clara Faye Short passed away at 2:15 pm, on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Willow Rose Nursing and Rehabilitation in Jerseyville, IL.
She was born on January 20, 1923 in Jersey County to the late John J. and Alice (Frank) Loy.
Faye married Silas Dale Short on July 7. 1947, he preceded her in death on October 5, 2016.
Faye worked at the Venture Department Store in Alton where she was in retail. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Wood River, she was active in the ladies auxillary. She was an award winning quilter, an accomplished Painter and an accomplished cook. Her greatest Joy was spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by two children; David and his spouse Linda Morrow of Gatlinburg, TN and Daniel Short of Wood River, two grand children and their spouses; Clinton and Chandrea Short of Wood River and Tonya and Chris Kendall of Granite City, four great grandchildren Caleb Kendall, Ethan Kendall, Kiele Short and Klarissa Short, and her church family and friends,
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by; two sister’s and 6 brothers.
Visitation will be from 10 am till time of service at 11:30 am Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. The Rev Lee Jackson officiating
Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in S. Roxanna, IL.
Memorial may be directed to the United Pentecostal Church of Wood River or BJC Hospice.
