Christine Marshall

Christine L. “Teenie” Marshall, 81, died at 10:46 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Jerseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Jerseyville. She was born on December 7, 1933 in Littleton, one of nine children born to the late Rolla and Dollie (Moore) Wayman. Christine grew up in the Fidelity/Medora area, graduating with the class of 1951 from Medora High School. She married Bernard Bell on December 4, 1964 in Alton and together they shared nearly 9 years together before his death on November 23, 1973. Christine was blessed once again, when she married Ira Marshall on March 26, 1978 in Jerseyville and the two had recently celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary when he died on March 30, 1985. She was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Fidelity and worked for many years at Bill’s Bakery in Jerseyville until the bakery’s closing. She also worked at the White Spot as well as Fran & Marilyn’s, both in Jerseyville; retiring after 10 years in 2006 from Fran & Marilyn’s. Surviving are five children and their spouses, Beverly Bell of Wood River; Clyde “Jim” Bell of Rockbridge; Cheryl & John Catt of Forsyth, MO; Michelle & Bradley Haun of Jerseyville and Chad Bell and his companion, Cynthia Cummings, of Brighton; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; as well as a brother, Eugene Wayman of California.In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Bell; two grandchildren, Sarah Bell and Eugene “Squeak” Bell;  four brothers, Melvin, Frank, Ebert and Everett Wayman; and three sisters, Mary Wayman; Doris Bell Bridgeman and Helen Thornton. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday with the Rev. Mike Mohr officiating. Burial will take place at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Fidelity. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family in care of the Crawford Funeral Home.
