Cheryl Vahle

Cheryl Ann Vahle, age 54, of Godfrey, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton.She was born January 18, 1960, in Alton, the daughter of Edward and Joan Brookshire. She married Thomas Vahle on April 15, 1994, in Edwardsville, and he survives. Cheryl was a loving mother and wife who considered her grandchildren to be the love of her life. Socializing with her friends was important to her. She was a member of Crosspoint Church in S. Roxana.In addition to her husband, Thomas; she is survived by two children and their spouses, Josh and Donna Curren of Rosewood Heights, and Ashley and Andrew Cheng of Alton; three grandchildren, Raylynne Curren, Gracie Curren, and Kora Cheng; and her beloved dog, Lucy.She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Debbie, Linda, and Dana; a brother, Ronnie; and a dog, Penny.A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to 5 A’s Animal Shelter.Staten-Fine Funeral Home has assisted the family with arrangements.
