Charlyne B. Kruckeberg, age 88 of Edwardsville, Illinois, died at 12:05 a.m. on Saturday, January 16th, 2016, at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, Illinois. She was born on April 5th, 1927, in Edwardsville, the daughter of the late Edwin C. & Lillian (Schroeder) Rethmeier. Charlyne married Clifford H. Kruckeberg on November 5, 1950 at Eden UCC Church in Edwardsville. He preceded her in death on June 21, 2005. She is survived by one son, David C. Kruckeberg of Edwardsville; two daughters, Jean Pruett & husband Lonnie of Prairietown, Illinois, Jane Gunderson & husband Dennis of Edwardsville; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Ryan & Michelle Kruckeberg, Nicole Montoya & husband Joshua, Beth Pruett, Dean Gunderson & wife Hope, Amanda Gunderson; and one sister Marian Merkel of Edwardsville. Charlyne was a dedicated farm wife and Homemaker helping run the family farm. She was a lifelong member of Eden UCC Church of Edwardsville where she was active in Circle 3 of the Womens Guild. She was also a member of the Home Extension, the Edwardsville Moose Lodge, and was a long time Election Judge.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20th, 2016 at Weber Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Eden United Church of Christ with Rev. John Roberts officiating. Burial will be at St. James Cemetery in Fort Russell Township, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Eden Church Building Fund. Condolences may be expressed online at weberfuneralhome.com.
