Charles Allison

Charles E. Allison (Charley Boy), 92, passed away at 11:30 am Tuesday, February 3, 2015 under the care of Breeze Hospice with his family by his side. 

He was born July 19, 1922 in Dyer, Tennessee, to the late John M. and Eura (Akins) Allison. 

He married Doris Maud Cramer on January 27, 1942 in St. Louis, MO. She preceded him in death on July 20, 2006. 

Charley Boy was an over the road truck driver for many years until he retired.  He enjoyed word search puzzles, remodeling, gardening, landscaping, and working in his yard.  He was an avid animal lover and Peppi was his companion.  What we will miss most is his fantastic storytelling and tall tales of his adventures.

He is survived and will be greatly missed by his loving daughter, Diana and her husband Larry Johnson and a loving son, Kenny Allison all of Rosewood Heights; he will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Tammy & Dennis Stuby of Rosewood Heights, Kim & Dave Stark of IN, Debbie Allison and PJ Petracek of St. Louis, MO, Steve and Farrah Allison of Bethalto, Ronda Burgard of Kearney, MO, Melissa and Chad Bennett of Portland, OR: his loving great grandchildren, Stacey, DJ, Davey, Larry, Rebecca, Diana, Mary, Ryan, Ethan, Dustin, Austin, Skyler, Courtney, Taylor, Jadin, Jordin, Bobby and Marissa; great, great grandchildren, Macey Maud, Kenna, Brook, Ashlyn, Charlie, Grayson, Cooper, Holden, Keegan, Ryker and Shavelle; a sister, Doris Dielold of  Osage Beach, MO and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Annette Allison, his brothers, William Lois, Raymon, Alyn, a sister, Louise, a daughter-in-law, Judy Allison and a granddaughter, Rachelle Johnson.

A memorial visitation will be from 10 am until services at 12 noon at Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto on Saturday, February 7, 2015 with Pastor Terry McKinzie officiating.   

Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Edwardsville.

Memorials may be made to 5 A’s Humane Society.
