Charles D. Skelton Jr., 39, died at 1:06 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2014 at his home in Alton. Born October 6, 1975 in Wood River, he was the son of Charles D. Skelton of Cottage Hills and the late Vicky “Tudor” (Graham) Skelton. He worked for GenCo in Edwardsville as a forklift operator. On June 30, 2006 he married Autumn S. Gray. She survives. Also surviving are four sons, Charles D. Skelton III (Kelsee) of Elsah, Gage Skelton of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Nathan Skelton of Alton, and Marshall Skelton of Alton, a granddaughter, Savannah Skelton, two brothers, Dustin Skelton of Cottage Hills, and Chad Phillips of E. Alton, and a sister, Trina Skelton of Brighton. Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Stacy Skelton. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Andre’ Dobson will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Skelton family to be put in a trust for his children.
