Charles Rawlings

Charles “Bay Boy” Rawlings, 62, passed away at 11:58pm on Friday, July 31, 2015, at his residence. He was born on June 5, 1953, in Alton, the son of the late Charles “Gabe” and Virginia (Henry) Rawlings. He married Pamela Lynn on August 13, 1979, in Edwardsville, and she survives. Other survivors include his children: Drake Holland of Alton, Rachel Rawlings of Alton, Bryan Rawlings of Alton, Rhonda Rawlings of Prairietown, Illinois, Jacquelyn Rawlings of Red Bud, Illinois, his adopted daughters: Brittney Holland, Piper Holland, his grandchildren: Krystalyn Kohlbrecher, Jaiden Thole, Maeci Goeway, Jordan Rawlings, Gaige Goeway, Logan Farris, Breanna Farris, one brother: Ronnie Rawlings of Alton, his nephews: Ronnie Rawlings, Randy Rawlings, Shawn Rawlings, many great nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends.

He was formerly employed for the City of Alton for 36 years in the street department. He loved to fish, camp, grill, boat, and target practicing. He loved NASCAR. He loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister: Sandy Rawlings.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Militzer will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Alton.

Memorials are suggested to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
