Carmen C. Breeden, 85 passed away at 2:50 pm Friday, October 4, 2013 at his home with his family by his side, under the care of BJC Hospice..
He was born on March 2, 1928 in Bloomfield, MO, the son of Ernest & Lillian (Conrad) Breeden
He married Dorothy Wollard on November 25, 1954 in Alton. She survives.
Carmen served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a truck driver for Teamsters Local 525 and worked for Helmkamp Construction for many years. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Meadowbrook. He was proud to organize annual reunions for his Army comrades that he had served with in the Korean War and they got together yearly He was an avid fisherman, loved fish fry’s, barbequing and most of all spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of fifty eight years, he is survived by his children and their spouses, Gary and Louretta Maze of Hampshire, IL, Ronald and Mary Jean Breeden of Meadowbrook, Carmilyn and Daniel Lesemann of Normal, IL and Gina Skjerseth (Robbie Seaman) of Bethalto; eight grandchildren, Mike Maze, Melissa Fish, Brandon Hammond, Dannilyn Lesemann, Eric Lesemann, Jordyn Finke, Paul Skjerseth and Abby Skjerseth; eight great grandchildren; his siblings and their spouses, Delores Wieneke of Batchtown, William Watts, Jim and Viva Watts, Viola and Wayne Cox and Eileen Summers all of Brighton and David Watts of Cottage Hills and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Larry Breeden, two granddaughters, Cassandra Breeden and Ginny Maze and a brother, Truman Breeden.
Visitation will be from 4 pm until a time of funeral service at 7 pm Monday October 7, 2013 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
